| | Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, I moved to New York City in 1984. For nearly a decade, I worked for arts organizations including New York City Opera, The New York Philharmonic, and Museum of Modern Art, as well as for the Empire State Pride Agenda, where I worked for the rights of New York State's LGBT community. I left my non-profit career for eight years to pursue writing and spiritual studies - twin passions that I'd long delayed. My life partner, Mike, knows how eternally grateful I am for his support. Our dog, Bryson, knows it, too. The moment I chose to pursue my bliss, my perception of all of life began to shift. Early life had held many memorable and clear intuitive experiences. I received all kinds of intuitive "hello's" and, like most people, did not explore them fully, allowing most to pass with little thought. Some were so powerful, however, that they became placeholders - clear markers - that I would revisit later in life. As I wrote more frequently, new opportunities began to come forward. Eventually, I wrote for various media, including ABC Television. When I wasn't working, the more I affirmed what I sensed and saw, the more my intuitive nature re-awakened and increased to become part of every day and night. The opportunity for this type of experience is equally natural to all of us whenever we choose to affirm our nature as infinite, eternal Spirit. Things get interesting when we do! Experience. As I began to study in earnest, I was lucky to find Jeani Wesp, a wonderful presence and deeply intuitive teacher in Rochester, New York. Her love and warmth grounded the incredible excitement I was experiencing as I took steps on my life path, and her kindness and wisdom have resonated ever since. Next I studied with Robert Brown, a British medium of international reknown who works frequently in the United States. Robert inspired a rock solid awareness of the need to have and to hold space for the highest integrity - every second, every minute, every day, every year for the rest of my life. He's also incredibly dry and very funny, and I'll never forget his "reindeer" imitation, but for more about that you'll have to ask Robert. While I had been raised Catholic, every year applied to studies has included active engagement with many of the world's major belief systems, with particular emphasis in Christian mysticism, Tibetan Buddhism, and Native American and Tibetan Shamanism. How exciting, I have found, to affirm and dive into a continuous river of Light when wisdom of all kinds is lived as one whole. Along the way, every step along this path lead me further within, beyond the fear and the anger that had been so much a part of my growing up gay and feeling isolated. I also began to feel a deep yearning to connect with mentors who were familiar with the many types of intuitive experiences I was having, as well as the changes that I was noticing in myself as a result of those experiences. Soon, I met Michael Tamura. Many have said that when we're ready, the teacher appears, and certainly I can appreciate that saying. Michael and his wife and colleague, Raphaelle Tamura, are two extraordinary teachers for whom I am forever grateful. Michael ran the country's foremost intuitive training institute for nearly twenty years. He and his mentor, the late Lewis Bostwick, the institute's founder, are the persons who grounded and nurtured clairvoyant training programs based on energy awareness, the mastery of simple practices available to everyone, and the more mystical teachings of Jesus of Nazareth, Buddha, and others that honor all paths and all natures equally. Seraphim at Mt. Shasta is Michael's current center in California. I've been an apprentice of Michael and Raphaelle's for the last five joyful, transformative and empowering years. I've also studied through an extraordinary Vermont-based teaching center that shares roots with Michael's first institute but which grows from Mary Bell Nyman and her own depth, wisdom and independence. Mary Bell and Hope Hewetson are co-founders of Psychic Horizons Center, and while located in Boulder, Colorado, they travel widely with fellow wonderful teacher, Kate De La Grange, steadily nurturing study groups around the country, and in Vermont, with Bruce Standish and Gretchen Caira-Stabile. I completed two years of study in early 2008, becoming a minister of the Church of Inner Light, and participate to this day in its most advanced programs under Hope Hewetson's guidance. Always we are learning, and as I've discovered, there is no ending to working with Spirit as we open to new teachers and find within them, too, the beat of an All Healing Heart. It is up to us to learn the ways that we can, with the greatest integrity, strengthen, do the work we are meant to do in our lives. Today. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to share what I learn with the wonderful people that come into my life. During 2010, I will be working from my professional Studio; will be giving frequent gay community workshops and free seminars; and also schedule travel a number of times during the year to meet with clients in other cities. My private practice includes sharing readings in person and by telephone all over the world, as well as additional workshops in New York, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. My first book, Toward Spirit and The Christ Within: Meditations on The Rose, The Web & The Tree of Life, is available now in stores and online. I am also deeply grateful to be on the administrative staff of Omega Institute for Holistic Studies, the premier holistic studies retreat center in the United States. I love my work in its various forms, with each day filled with meeting people from so many walks of life to share in the transformation we experience. Thank you for your interest, and congratulations - to you - for your own investigation of spiritual insight. Feel free to email or call or to share this website with friends. I look forward to working with you to nurture your Self, your Bliss, your Light. Always, it's yours for the asking. Blessings!
